1. Professional Status & Regulations

  • BACP Framework: I practice in accordance with the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
  • Jurisdiction: This agreement and all counselling services provided are governed exclusively by the laws of England and Wales [or Scotland / Northern Ireland depending on your location]. Sessions are conducted under UK jurisdiction, regardless of your physical location during the online call.

2. Online Sessions & Technical Requirements

  • Platform Security: Online sessions are conducted via a secure, encrypted platform ([e.g., Zoom / Bilateral / WhatsApp Video]). You are responsible for ensuring you have a private, confidential space and a stable internet connection.
  • Technical Failures: If a connection drops during a session, I will attempt to reconnect via the platform twice. If this fails, I will contact you via text or email to arrange an alternative (e.g., telephone counselling) for the remainder of the slot.

3. Fees and Payment Terms

  • Session Fee: The fee per session is £60 for a standard 50 minute clinical hour.
  • Payment Method: Payment must be made via bank transfer or secure online payment link at least 24 hours before the scheduled session.
  • Late Payments: Sessions will not proceed if payment has not been received by the required deadline.

4. Cancellations and Missed Appointments

  • Notice Period: Life can be hectic sometimes, but if you need to cancel or reschedule, please try to provide at least 24 hours notice.
  • Late Cancellations: Appointments cancelled with less than the required notice, or missed entirely, may be charged at the full session rate.
  • Practitioner Cancellation: If I am unable to attend due to illness or an emergency, I will give you as much notice as possible and offer a replacement slot or a full refund.

5. Professional Boundaries & Crisis Support

  • Crisis Cover: This private practice does not provide a 24-hour crisis or emergency service. If you are experiencing an immediate mental health crisis, you must contact Samaritans (116 123), NHS 111, or your local emergency services.
  • Communication: Email and text communication between sessions must be restricted to administrative matters (e.g., changing appointment times). I do not offer therapeutic support via text or email.
